Getting fired is a tough break no matter how it goes down. But at this airport coffee shop, a woman took getting fired to a whole new level. A video was posted today of a young woman in a coffee shop fighting violently with several of her coworkers, trying to get behind the espresso bar to grab her belongings despite their attempts at removing her from the building.
All this because she got fired and wanted to grab her belongings ? pic.twitter.com/kAfgQS0imK

According to police, the woman had been fired from her job on Saturday at Harvest & Grounds, a coffee shop at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The reason for her firing appears to be because of an argument between her and a coworker over espresso shots. One of the employees, a woman who has been identified as Shacoria Elly, became quite upset due to not being able to get her items after being fired. This led to her violent reaction which was caught on video.
The video begins with a man in a green shirt, presumably one of Elly’s coworkers, trying to push her back from the espresso bar as she struggles to fight against him. She then picks up a chair and tries to swing it at him before he takes it out of her hands. Soon after, she runs at another man in a red shirt with raised fists, trying and failing to get past him. He throws her violently onto the ground, at which point she jumps back on her feet and begins hitting him.

At this point in the video, the man in the green shirt holds her arms from behind while she demands to be allowed to retrieve her belongings. She pulls her arms out of the hold and slaps the man. She then pretends to leave the store, then quickly runs and jumps over the counter toward the back of the café. It’s not clearly visible what happens behind the bar, but the man in the red shirt can be seen holding her from behind and trying to push her out from behind the bar.

This is the part where things escalate even further, as the woman appears to try to hit the man in the red shirt with what seems to be a metal pan. The man then shouts at the people in the store, “Somebody’s on the phone with the police, right?”, after which a woman confirms that she has indeed called the cops. Elly then grabs her bag and coat and proceeds to leave the store.
The Aftermath
According to the police report, Elly was fired from her position and had her badge confiscated by airport security. She was gone by the time officers arrived, and at this time no charges have been filed. Reactions to the video have varied from those criticizing her to those defending her and questioning why she wasn’t allowed to collect her belongings.
Why didn’t they just give her stuff?
